On Saturday April 15, 2023, Teamsters Local 700 held the first craft meeting for members from Illinois Department of Transportation, Department of Human Services, Central Management Services, and Department of Employment Security.
"As first responders, these brave brothers and sisters man the frontline to ensure safe travels for the motoring public across the State of Illinois" said President Ramon Williams. "Their Union will make sure that they are recognized for their dedication and sacrifice by receiving the fair and equitable contract they deserve."
The group, led by Business Agent Joseph Brogdon and Local 700 Vice President and Director of Contract Negotiations, Anthony McGee, discussed contract proposals, work rules and workplace safety. "We've secured three upcoming negotiations dates, April 25th, May 12th and May 22nd." said Brogdon, "Today's meeting was very productive and allowed membership input. When we stand together, united as one, there is nothing that will stand in our way!" Gregory Ortiz, Chief Steward for the City of Chicago, was also present and offered valuable information on negotiation strategies.
