Teamsters Local 700 Swears In New Secretary-Treasurer, Vice President, and Recording Secretary
Chicago, IL- On Tuesday, August 31st, the Teamsters Local 700 Executive Board met to address the vacant position of Secretary-Treasurer. The Executive Board voted and unanimously agreed to appoint long-time union veteran and former Vice President, Anthony L. McGee, to the position of Secretary-Treasurer for the remainder of the current term.
This appointment resulted in a vacancy in the Vice President position. The Executive Board then voted and unanimously agreed to appoint former Recording Secretary, Edward Kern, a veteran officer with the Cook County Department of Corrections, to the position of Vice President for the remainder of the current term.
This appointment resulted in a vacancy in the position of Recording Secretary. The Executive Board then voted and unanimously agreed to appoint former Business Agent, Gregory E. Ortiz, a proud City of Chicago, Department of Water Management member to the position of Recording Secretary for the remainder of the current term.
Teamsters Local 700 President, Ramon D. Williams, remarked, “We are elated to have these three hard-working individuals continue in their roles of greater responsibility towards the representation and advocacy for the members of Teamsters Local 700. They have boldly faced challenges and threats on behalf of our members and will honor their oaths of office by putting the needs of our members first.
