COOK COUNTY DEPT OF CORRECTIONS OFFICERS RATIFY A NEW COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT.

Teamsters Local 700 is proud to announce that the Officers of The Cook County Department of Corrections (CCDOC) have voted overwhelmingly to ratify their contract. Officers voted over a three-day period this week and collectively decided to accept the new contract which was negotiated by a committee consisting of rank and file members supported by Teamsters Local 700 Vice-president, Anthony McGee, and outside counsel, Stuart W. Davidson, leading the charge. “The entire team worked tirelessly to secure this agreement” said McGee, “the Officers voted to secure a contract that demanded the Sheriff’s respect and appreciation of the Officers under his command.” Along with limiting the Emergency Powers of the Sheriff by reducing his ability to harass Officers who have called off with home checks, Teamsters have secured a better wage scale with no step freezes.

Teamsters would also like to convey a special thanks to the Union Stewards who devoted every available moment to advocating and informing their fellow Officers throughout the year long negotiations. Their experience and influence made this a smooth process and we look forward to their continued involvement and input.
