We’ve all had to endure many hardships caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Our inability to meet in person was one of them, but we adapted. In the interests of safety, we changed our meeting protocols and procedures. While serving our members is our first priority, we can never forget our responsibility of providing another critical resource… information.
Local 700 would like to celebrate one year of ingenuity, safety, and solidarity.
In May 2020, Teamsters Local 700 was one of the first Teamsters locals in the country to conduct virtual general membership meetings. A year later, we continue to keep members healthy, informed, and involved through Zoom technology.
The leadership of Teamsters Local 700 didn’t stop with general membership meetings. We have held over 63 virtual Craft, Steward, and Committee meetings to address important issues that affect our members. We have even begun a Vimeo channel, and broadcast via Facebook Live, to share updates and inspiration.
We’d like to thank our Business Agents, Staff, and Union Stewards, who faithfully promote virtual meetings and encourage members to join our email list.
But nothing makes us prouder than the effort our members have made to stay up to date and engaged. We recognize and appreciate your ability to adapt. You have risen to the challenge like true Teamsters!
Haven’t joined us for a Zoom call yet? Please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call the office at 1-874-939-9700 to be placed on our email list. It’s the best way to get the latest notifications for all virtual meetings.
Stay Safe. Stay Strong. Stay United.
