On Wednesday, September 30, 2020, Local 700 members at the Stickney Water Reclamation Plant made their voices heard and voted overwhelmingly in favor of their contract extension. Members secured their wages and benefits in the newly-ratified contract through June 30, 2021.
The Water Reclamation District has several locations throughout the Greater Chicagoland Area and is the world’s largest waste water treatment plant. It serves 2.38 million people across over 260 square miles. The 560-acre Stickney plant abides by strict Covid safety regulations and works with our members in scheduling different shifts in order to promote social distancing.
We truly appreciate the important work of our members of The Water Reclamation District and their commitment to stand united during these trying times.
Stay strong. Stay safe. Stay united.
