Teamsters Local 700 Honors National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day

Today, as America celebrates National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day across the country, Teamsters Local 700 is proud to honor the more than 5,000 law enforcement members of our strong union.

“On behalf of the Executive Board and staff of Teamsters Local 700, we want to say thank you to all of our law enforcement members who have selflessly chosen to serve and protect their respective communities,” said Teamsters Local 700 President Ramon D. Williams. “Every day you are faced with dangerous and unpredictable situations in order to preserve public safety and we want you to know that you have our support and we appreciate everything you do.”

National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day was first observed in 2015 after it was organized by Concerns of Police Survivors (COPS), an organization that offers assistance and resources to law enforcement agencies nationwide on how to respond to the loss of a member.

How to participate in National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day
In partnership with COPS, the American Red Cross is hosting a nationwide “Blue Blood” drive during the month of January for citizens to donate blood and save lives as a way to honor law enforcement professionals. A blood drive location map and more information is available at The COPS website also lists other ways that the pubic can show their support, such as wearing blue clothing, displaying a blue light at home or sharing a positive story about law enforcement on social media.
