IDOT Members Responsible for Sign Replacement After Expressway Crash

After a deadly crash on the Bishop Ford Expressway that killed two people, members of Teamsters Local 700 who work for the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) were responsible for getting the highway reopened and safe for motorists.

Our members were able to manage lane closures while carefully cutting down the damaged sign and replacing it.

Watch the IDOT members in action:

Member Rick Rapp is seen in the bucket, which is being operated by member Joe Enders. Other IDOT members who managed the scene include: Joe Goosinow, Dennis Cascio, Dave Murillo, Craig Mallory, John Marcatante, Rafael Gomez, Mark Bacarella and Ron Cohen.

“The work of our IDOT members is critical to the safety of highway motorists in Illinois,” said Teamsters Local 700 President Michael G. Melone. “Hundreds of thousands of people who travel everyday are counting on our IDOT members to patrol and maintain the expressways and immediately take care of any conditions that might disrupt normal traffic or cause unsafe driving conditions.”
