Teamsters Local 700 member John Wicks is running for the position of Trustee for the Village of Bellwood. His election will be held on Tuesday, April 4, 2017.
John has worked at the Cook County Juvenile Temporary Detention Center (JTDC) for the past 18 years as a Security Specialist. A 30-year resident of Bellwood, he is a graduate of Proviso East High School and has four children who also grew up in Bellwood.
John previously served the community as the School Board President for Bellwood School District 88. He is also a life member of the Progressive Church Life Giving Word Cathedral.
“Bellwood is a very unique town,” said John. “We are in such a great position for economic development and growth toward the future and I want to be part of the team.”
About a year ago, John formed a new party for his campaign called the Bellwood Visionary Party. The campaign is hosting a meet & greet event at 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 11 at the Billy Goat in Chicago.
