Robert “Bob” DeGraff, a Cook County correctional officer, successfully beat out the competition to win a seat on the Cook County Pension Board during the annual Trustee Election on Wednesday, Oct. 26.
Bob has been a CCDOC correctional officer for 12 years and had previously worked as a manager for a financial recovery agency. He wanted to become a pension board Trustee to be the voice for the Teamsters and all Cook County employees.
“I’m firmly committed to making sure that the views and concerns of all pension fund participants are taken into account when exercising my judgment involving decisions affecting the fund,” said Bob. “As a Trustee, I plan to be as diligent and active as possible in my attempts to take advantage of every opportunity to improve the strength and confidence in our pension plan.”
“We are proud of Bob and the effort he put into his campaign,” said Teamsters Local 700 President Becky Strzechowski. “His tenure as a correctional officer will bring a new perspective to the pension board and we are confident that he will fight for the best interests of all county employees.”
