On, Friday, Dec. 4, Local 700 Business Agent and Executive Board Trustee Anthony McGee was a panelist at the IT Chicago-Kent College of Law’s 31st Annual Illinois Public Sector Labor Relations Law Conference. The annual conference draws more than 600 public sector labor lawyers and labor relations specialists.
Anthony was part of the panel that addressed the “nuts & bolts” of mediation. As a Local 700 business agent, he is well versed in mediation, as it’s a common practice for settling grievances, wrongful termination and other labor management issues.
“I was honored to be asked to participate at such a prestigious conference and the opportunity to represent Local 700 in this manner was unparalleled,” said Anthony.
The mediation panel discussion covered the dynamics of engaging a federal mediator as it relates to contract negotiations and how the process works.
“Anthony McGee is an animated speaker and has a great presence when addressing an audience,” said Becky Strzechowski, Local 700 President. “His collective bargaining experience really translated well into his presentation and we are very proud of the way he represented Local 700.”
