Local 700 Hires New Business Agent for Cook County Corrections
Representation just grew stronger for Teamsters Local 700 members in the Cook County Department of Corrections as the union welcomes its newest business agent Dennis Andrews.
A 28-year veteran employee of the Cook County Jail at 26th St. and California Ave., Andrews offers the experience of life inside the Department of Corrections since 1984. Throughout his career as a selfless public servant and corrections officer, Andrews has proven to be a responsible and resourceful worker, supervisor and defender of his fellow officers. From 1989-2012, Andrews served as a sergeant, captain, superintendent and divisional commander within the department.
“Dennis Andrews will excel as a Local 700 business agent because he knows firsthand the challenges and dangerous situations our members face each and every day in the Department of Corrections,” said Becky Strzechowski, Local 700 President. “Dennis is a hardworking, dependable representative and he will help the Teamsters make a real difference for Cook County workers.”
Teamsters Local 700 represents more than 13,000 public employees throughout metropolitan Chicago and the State of Illinois.
