Detective Richard Wesolowski, a Teamsters Local 700 member, has been named Thornton Police Department Officer of the Year, in addition to receiving several other accolades from the Village.
"Richard is an outstanding example of a Teamsters Local 700 member," said John T. Coli, Local 700 Trustee. "As a law enforcement local, we pride ourselves on our brave and hardworking members, and Richard has definitely exceeded all expectations."
Wesolowski's exemplary work on an aggravated DUI case, a reckless homicide/aggravated DUI case involving a fatal crash and obtaining statements from two suspects who were in custody for a rash of copper/metal thefts from businesses all contributed to the recognition he has received from the Village of Thornton and Local 700.
