Local 700 Aggressively Enforcing Collective Bargaining Agreement
Teamsters Local 700 is fighting for its Master Sergeants by ensuring that their collective bargaining agreement is upheld.
"We are aggressively enforcing the contract," said William P. Logan, Assistant Trustee for Local 700."We have filed a four-count unfair labor practice complaint against the Department of the Illinois State Police."
Logan also said that issues regarding Department of Internal Investigations positions and Discipline Review Board have been resolved.
"The Illinois State Police hired 10 civilian investigators in the Department of Internal Investigations, and we
fought to make sure that these civilian investigators are supervised by sworn Master Sergeants," said Logan.
Becky Strzechowski, Assistant Trustee for Local 700, said the union is making progress on arbitrations.
"We're moving the arbitration process along regarding promotions and off duty conduct, and we are expecting
arbitrators' lists shortly regarding residency and deadly force drug testing," Strzechowski said.
John T. Coli, Trustee for Local 700, said the union also is trying to handle other matters more efficiently.
"There are also several other issues on the table that we are attempting to resolve before unfair labor practice complaints or arbitration are pursued," Coli said.
